Easter 2011

It was a fun Easter this year. The kids had a fun time taking part in all the activities of the "Easter bunny", but also enjoyed learning the TRUE meaning of Easter and singing their Easter songs over and over again!

On Thursday, we had fun dying eggs

Mark was good with patience, while I was a little crazier, as Lilly has a hard time understanding what "gentle" means!! She figured it out quick though and did a great job.
On Easter morning, the kids woke up excited to see their jelly bean trail left by the Easter bunny. Hayden loved following the trail, and Lilly loved eating it!!

Excited to follow the trail and see where it leads.

YUM! A chocolate bunny! Before Easter, I asked Lilly what she thought she would get in her Easter basket and she told me, a "chocolate bunny". That was the first thing she saw and she immediately opened it and started eating it. :)

Caleb had fun opening his basket too! Sippy cups and teething rings!

Hayden enjoyed playing his kazoo all morning!

After basket opening was our Easter egg hunt. Hayden and Lilly both did pretty well this year :)

Posing in Easter outfits before church in Lilly's garden room.

For Easter dinner, we had my parents, grandparents from Utah and sister and her family over. Caleb got to meet his Great Grandparents for the 1st time

Showing off new headbands from grandma great and figuring out how the hen lays her gum ball eggs!!

Getting to know Grandma Great. The kids enjoyed her never ending bag of treats!!

AND, celebrating my 31st b-day!! I haven't ever had Easter fall on my birthday and probably never will again, but have been enjoying my carrot cake and chocolate lamb cake all week!!!

1st School Bus Ride

Today, Hayden got the treat of riding his 1st school bus!! His school had a fundraiser and Hayden won in his class, so he and about 10 other kids got pizza beforehand, loaded on the bus and drove to Basken Robins for ice cream and then back to school. Hayden had the option for his mom to go with him, but in a proud voice he said, "no mom, I want to just go by myself with my teacher"! That is a big change from the Hayden we knew 9 months ago!!

Here he is getting off the bus, Lilly running to greet him (she thought he had been on a long trip!)

Posing by the bus. Hayden he a fun day and wonders when he gets to do it again!! He said he sat by the window, and there weren't any seat belts!! For ice cream, he chose mint chocolate chip. YUM!

Fun Weekend in Walla Walla

This weekend, we went to Walla Walla to visit my brother and his family. Hayden and Lilly were in heaven playing with their 2 older cousins and were spoiled all weekend, along with Caleb! Hayden loved trying on Ryan's seahawk helmet and football pads. He asked Ryan each night if he could sleep with the helmet!

Lilly LOVED licorice, Anna's guinea pig!! She asked probably at least once an hour if she could feed him a carrot and loved petting him. We even found her in Anna's room one afternoon reading him a book!

The trampoline was of course a hit!

Hope licorice isn't too sick this week!
On Friday night, we watched tangled and ate pizza in front of TV. Lilly went and got each kid a pillow so they could sit together and enjoy the movie :)
Bedtime was always fun with Anna and Ryan to read bedtime stories
Anna showed Hayden how to play the cello
And even let him try by himself!!
Lilly had fun "helping" Dawn in the kitchen
And LOVED any cuddling time that she could get with Ryan!!
Caleb didn't mind cuddling with Anna either!!
More fun times!!

It's Gone!!

Well, I got my hair chopped off yesterday! I was tired of always wearing it in a ponytail and hopefully now, it will look styled and not take long! I'm still getting used to it, and hopefully with practice will figure out how to style it. In Hayden's words: "mommy, I like you with short hair more than long hair" and Lilly's words: "mama, you have wild hair!" And Caleb didn't cry when he saw me, so I guess it's not too bad!! Here is the before

And After

Our Little Gymnasts

A couple of weeks ago, the kids started a gymnastics class. Originally, Hayden and Lilly were in separate classes, but that only lasted one week, since I didn't realize that parents were required to be in the class in Lilly's class (it was a little hard carrying Caleb and helping Lilly with summer salts!!) So, they opened a new class up for us and now it's just Hayden, Lilly and one other girl. It's a 13 week class, so maybe they'll get more kids. Hayden and Lilly think it's pretty fun to go to "ger-nastics"!!
Here they are jumping on the long trampoline. The teacher has them doing all sorts of different jumps (reaching up high, tucking knees, hopping on one foot)....of course, Hayden is very serious about it all and tries all different jumps; Lilly is happy just to jump and jump and jump!

Sitting on the listening line Monkey bars

Caleb is happy just to play on the ground and watch his brother and sister!!
