Weekend Extravaganza!!

This weekend was a busy, but fun weekend. It started with Lilly's 2nd b-day on Friday!! I can't believe she's 2! We started out with eggs and toast and she had fun blowing out candles.
That night we had her birthday party with family. We had a "Hawaiian" theme. Here are her party cupcakes on top of flower flip-flops
Getting ready for our guests

Excited that Robin and Jake were there!

Ready for the feast!

Lilly loved her cards just as much as her presents.

Ready for the cupcake! Notice ALL fingers reaching!

MMMMMMM!!!!

On Saturday night, we went over to Momo's and Papa's for a great "carbo loading" dinner for Tyler, Brian and Jamie to be prepared for the marathon the next day. Hayden sure loved being at the kid table (sorry he kicked you out ben), but we had a fun time getting to talk to Ben at our table!!

The kids loved listening to different songs on youtube. Here they are huddled around the computer listening to the gummy bear song. I think Hayden and Lilly loved being with the "big kids"

The next night was another fun night having a weenie roast at Momo and Papa's. Perfect weather...it didn't even rain! Hayden LOVED playing with Ryan and Pete. He called them "my boys". Hopefully they didn't mind him following them around this weekend!

Swinging girls

Enjoying their orange pop

The "Moore" girls

A good shot with all the grand kids

Having fun in the hot tub.

It was a fun weekend. We even got a lot done today (in between the rain). We planted our garden (beans, peas, onions, spinach, lettuce, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, sun flowers, pumpkins and mini pumpkins) and our potted flowers. I guess we were too busy to take pictures, but Hayden and Lilly sure enjoyed digging and planting seeds. Thanks for a fun weekend everyone!!!

Lilly's New Room

While we were gone on our trip (see post below) our friend's mom came and painted Lilly's new big girl room!! We love it!! The kids love going in and out looking at all the fun things. I'm excited to get Lilly into her big girl bed! She slept in a bed in Maui, so now we know she can!

Each butterfly/bug is different and has so much detail!

Our favorite caterpillar

The cute bunny that Lilly loves to kiss!

Here is the quilt top put together. Judy is going to quilt and put the back on and we just have to get some new furniture and queen bed and she'll be ready for her new room!

Hawaii!!!

It seems like we had been planning our trip to Hawaii for a long time and now it has come and gone! We had a great time and took A LOT of pictures. I tried to narrow them down, but ended up with a lot...so hope you have a few minutes!! We woke up bright at early last Saturday and got to the airport at 4:30 a.m. Here we are, kids ready for their first airplane ride!!

Still had sleepy eyes but alert and ready!

Keeping entertained on the plane with DVD's. Their favorite part was the landing. They both thought it was a fun ride!

We stopped on our way there at the Portland airport and had a few hours waiting for mark's family. Luckily they had a kid play area to keep the kids busy.

We arrived in Hawaii, got settled and then went to play at the playground next store.

This is just outside of our condo. I loved all the flowering trees/bushes, all different colors!
The "garden" view of the condo. There was a coy pond down below.

Here's the view from our back porch! I think we saw a rainbow everyday!!
Ready for the beach!!

Lilly loved the waves (as you can see)!!

And mucking in the sand

Hayden didn't like the waves, but found a nice spot to sun bathe!!
The swimming pool was a much easier/cleaner and Hayden would actually go in that water! They liked going down and putting their feet in.

View of the ocean

Found some blow holes!

And a heart in the rock!

Mark, Gary, Ryan and Colleen went golfing one day, so Judy and I took the kids to the aquarium. It was fun to see all the fish and the kids enjoyed seeing them and NOT getting wet!

There were a lot of interesting sea life to see. I thought these were kind of weird...just little worms that bury their tails in the ocean floor and eat whatever floats by!

Getting to see the turtles

We got to see a scuba diver feed the sting rays and sharks. He had on a microphone and taught all about the fish. Hayden thought it was so neat to see a diver and decided he wanted to be one too! 1st step...liking water!

Viewing the fish. We were in a tube that you could see on all sides.

View of the bottom of a sting ray
One night we went to a luau. It was a lot of fun! They put on a whole show of hula dancing and fire juggling. The kids loved it!

Ready for the luau

Here is our table ready for food and show

Viewing the roasting pig

The uncovering of the pig
They invited people up to learn how to hula, so I went up with the kids. They did a pretty good job shaking their little bums and moving their arms!!

I couldn't get our video to down load, so will have to try again later, but here are the hula dancers.

One morning we went on a boat to see dolphins with Colleen and Ryan.....unfortunately we didn't see any, but we had a fun day walking around the town and seeing the banyon tree (a giant tree that takes up a whole block - it has a big trunk in the center and then has branches that go down and take root in the ground all over, so it looks like several different trees, but they are all actaully attached to one tree).

The kids and grandparents met up with us in the afternoon at "cheesburger in paradise"

While mark and his dad went scuba diving, Judy and I took the kids on the Sugar Cane Train. It was a short ride, but fun for the kids to hear the "choo choo" and see the steam.

Getting to see the steam shoot out the side of the engine. We even got sprayed a little bit.

Here is Myrtle the engine, but Hayden preferred to call him Thomas!

Pooped out after a busy day of snorkeling and playing on the beach. We saw a big sea turtle about 5 feet from us while we were snorkeling!

It must have been a good trip! Hayden slept quite a long time on the way home
After lots of playing and moving around from seat to seat, Lilly finally gave into sleep too!
We finally arrived back home at midnight last night!! Since it was a 3 hour difference the kids weren't too tired, but slept in until 10am this morning! We had a great time and hopefully will get to go back again someday!!
