Hayden's Big Adventure

Hayden had quite the week last week! He caught a cold, which usually travels right to his chest, but this time, he couldn't get over his shortness of breath even with breathing treatments and his oxygen was running low. The doctor recommended that we go to the hospital and be checked overnight. Well, it ended up being 3 nights and and ADVENTURE!! Here he is in the ER, hooked up to oxygen and the oxygen meter. Not too bad as long as there is a movie to watch!!

IV in and gown on, ready for the chest x-ray...still doing well!
1st breakfast. He had any choice of food to order...so he picked rice crispies and applesauce!!

Lilly missed her big brother and was happy to come and visit

Keeping busy with coloring

We had lots of fun visitors who brought Hayden lots of fun things to keep him entertained!

Ready to put together his airplane lego from Robin and Jake

Finally on Friday, they gave us the ok to head home. Here is Hayden happy to be OUT OF BED and ready to be home!

Busy October!

I have been meaning to post my pictures from the past month, but haven't gotten around to it, so I'm just copying and posting what I have posted on the blog I have with my family to save time. A lot more pictures than I was planning, but a lot easier!!

Applesauce Weekend 2011

We had our annual applesauce making weekend with Mark's family at the beginning of October. It was a nice weekend, no rain, and happy to have Grandma Great this year too!

Mini Camp Cousins - Day 5 & 6

Helping to make Halloween cupcakes by filling the muffin tins with cups

Getting to lick the beaters (getting the most out of it by using entire hands rather than just fingers!)
Even Caleb enjoyed helping

Trying out our cupcakes...Yum!

Papa joined us for dinner on Thursday night, so rather than making him squish at our round table, we had a "fancy" dinner out in the dining room

Last night of gifts...Ants in the Can!

Papa was the best at flipping the ant into the can! The kids were impressed!

On the last day, we headed to Jump and Bounce (thanks to Amy and Joel's treat). The kids ran around, jump, and went down slides for an entire hour!

It was a fun week! I'm glad we got to know Robin and Jake more. My kids were sad to have them go, but I think Robin and Jake were pretty happy to see their parents come home!!

Mini Camp Cousins - Day 3 & 4

Just another update from our house. We are STILL having fun together! On Tuesday, the older kids were in school, so it was just Jake and Caleb together in the morning. I think they had fun with just each other, can you tell?

Jake helped me make Halloween cookies.
Then, after picking up the kids from school, we headed to McDonalds for some Happy Meals and toy climbing!

Then, home to color our glow in the dark Halloween pictures

Here's one of the pictures....ooooohhhh, scary!

Mark handling all 5

Robin calls Hayden her "One True Love", so Jake started calling Lilly his "One True Love" this week. Here are the true loves!!

Getting ready to open up the present on Tuesday night. Breakfast waffles!

Next morning loving waffles!

While Robin was at preschool on Wednesday, Hayden and Lilly's school had a field trip to Greenbluff to learn about apples, pick an apple and pumpkin. It was a RAINY day (pouring the whole time), but it didn't slow the kids down!

Waiting on the tractor ride and listening to the teacher tell about apples and the animals that live in the orchard.

Enjoying the apples that they picked themselves

Mark came to help me handle the 4 kids. (this picture was taken by me, not one of the kids....am I really that short??)

Not one of the pumpkins we brought home, but the kids were happy to pose in front of it

Last night, another present! Excited about the Halloween cupcakes and frosting with sprinkles that we are going to make!

Another exciting day at the Wagenblast house!!
