Fun from the past couple of weeks

The past couple of weeks have been BUSY, but fun! Just thought I would share. Cherries were finally ready to pick so we went one morning and picked A LOT!! Hayden became a pro at spitting the pits out....Lilly became a pro at eating the cherries whole!! We got enough to eat about a gallon of Bing and Rainier, plus enough pie cherries for one pie! The kids were good helpers. I must have been busy picking because we didn't get any pictures. We did go and get ice cream cones though, along with a flat of raspberries for eating and freezer jam. The kids got huge scoops of ice cream and ate it ALL!!

The "busy" part of the summer has been Vacation Bible School. I took on the role of coordinator this year. It was a lot of preparation and Hayden and Lilly followed me to church everyday as my "helpers". When we didn't go to church, they wondered why! Last week was THE week of VBS. It was a "High Seas Expedition"! We had over 100 kids register. It was a fun week. Hayden got to be in the preschool class and loved it. The last session was an evening session with the parents. We had dinner/games/singing/crafts. It was a great ending to a CRAZY week!

The kids got to decorate sailor hats

Make boats and do boat races

Lilly was brave enough to get her face painted

Then we went inside for the closing program. Hayden and Lilly loved following the hand motions to the songs.

Having fun up on stage. Kinda corny, but this is my "captain's outfit" :)

Today, Mark took the kids to the air show while I worked. It was a HOT day, but the kids had a great time (although you can't tell from this picture)! They were wiped out. When I got home, they were still sleeping at 6:30 and didn't want to wake up for dinner!

Tom Cruise wasn't there but his plane was!!
Hayden really loved the helicopter and was so excited to get to go in!

You can see his excitement on his face!

Then they got to be pilots!!

Now that VBS is over, we can just focus on summer....and having a baby in 2 months!!! I'm ready to relax next week!!

Singing Lilly

Lilly's favorite song is "Jesus loves me". I catch her singing it in bed, during dinner, when she's playing. It's hard to catch her on camera though. Maybe you can pick out some of the words. It kind of looks like a punk rock version!

Petting Farm

Here is Hayden with the turkey. He thought it was so funny!

Petting Farm

Yesterday we went to a petting farm. The kids had a lot of fun seeing all the animals. There were baby goats, horses, a pig, HUGE sheep, llamas, chickens, roosters, bunnies, turkeys and a tortoise...all wandering around together. Lilly LOVED the baby goat!!
Patting the turtle. He is 25 years old and the farmer said he'll live to 75-125 years!
Petting the duck

Once we got the baskets of food out to feet the animals, this mama goat was REALLY hungry! She was pushing her babies out of the way and reaching as far as she could to get anything!! Hayden thought it was pretty funny!

Hayden's favorite was feeding the turkey. After feeding the nice gentle baby goats, he came to the turkey who would peck his hand really fast to get the food.

Lilly liked feeding the crazy mother too!

4th Of July At the Cabin

We had a fun 4th this year at the cabin, although we were inside quite a bit and had a fire everyday! Hayden became an expert at climbing the ladder to the loft and loved going up there to play. Lilly got pretty good going up, but needed to be carried down.

Mark even got in some good vacuuming. Why doesn't he do that at home??

One day, Lilly decided that she needed her clothes off. Hayden came inside and saw Lilly naked, so he decided he needed to be naked too! I guess it's more fun to run around naked than with clothes on. Lilly even thought it was a good idea for others to be naked, but no one took her up on her request!
Hayden loved the motor boat, especially when he got to be the driver!

And of course, Lilly had to try it out too!

Here is the completed kayak that mark built, paint and all (it's the turquoise one)

Having fun outside

Going fast in the boat!

The best part about smoke bombs is running through the colorful smoke. Must be good for the asthma!

Playing poker with the big boys!!

Throwing snaps. Lilly got pretty good at putting them carefully on the ground and then stomping on them.

Being entertained by the little dog, Lu by lining up jar lids on her. You never know what will entertain a child!

Having fun with Kyle

Getting the best view for the fireworks

And then another view! She sure knows how to make friends!
Hope everyone had a good 4th!!

To All Dads!!

I thought this was a pretty funny video! Thought you might need a laugh!
