Birthday visitors

Just adding to the birthday post below.  I started out the morning with a surprise visit from my mom group at church complete with home made bread, flowers and a coffee.  It was a fun morning of visiting.  Then, in the afternoon, Amy came with the kids complete with this tray of cupcakes, videos and books to keep me busy!  I was a lucky person on my birthday and had a great day, even if most of it was spent in bed!!

I have been spending most of my time the last 1 1/2 weeks in the playroom so the kids thought it was great fun to have a picnic dinner of pizza up in the playroom so that I could be apart of the meal!  Tonight I'm actually going to try and sleep in my own bed.  Lilly was a bit bummed though because she has gotten to sleep with Mark and loved it!!

Fun birthday

It was a fun birthday last week. I headed downstairs for the first time in a week. Mark made a special dinner and Judy made a great carrot cake. The kids were excited for opening presents sand singing happy birthday. I still have a few more pictures that i'll have to post from when Amy came to visit with the kids, but I'm having a hard time getting them off my camera.

I had a doctor appointment today and can now bear weight on my leg and my knee brace can now bend rather than being stuck straight! I'm still using crutches, but it definitely makes it easy to put more weight down!

I am blogging from the iPad, so can only post one picture at a time, but Caleb had fun getting to play on the jungle gym last night at the game, even though the metal bars must have been freezing!! I figured I could blog from bed if mark takes the pictures!

Hayden had his first game of the season. If you zoom in, you can see how hard he was concentrating. It was a chilly night and he said he almost froze, but had a fun time. The 1st thing he said when he came home was, "if they would have been keeping score, our team would have won!" He is our competitive guy! He is on the "white sox" team and was excited that mark got a matching hat to wear with him! I think it will be a fun season!

This, That, And Everything in Between!!

This has been a whirl-wind of a month....and it hasn't slowed down!!  I'm not sure who all reads this blog, but for those of you who didn't know, my dad passed away unexpectedly about 3 1/2 weeks ago.  It has been a month of lots of lows, but I know God is in control and has provided several highs as reminders of His love for us!  I'm thankful for God's grace and knowing that my dad, mom and brother are together again.  Thanks for everyone's kind thoughts, prayers and help in the past few weeks.  They have really meant a lot!!

I thought I needed to catch up on the blog though....so, here are A LOT of pictures!

On March 14th, we celebrating Mark's bday (not sure why Lilly is wearing sunglasses), complete with one of his favorite dinners, presents, and pie.

 The next day, we celebrated Grace's 1st Birthday.  It's hard to believe 1 year has already passed!!  I was thankful we chose to have the party 4 days early and Papa was able to be there for the celebration.  Here is Hayden proud of the rainbow he helped me make.  He ripped and glued all the colors.  The theme was "rainbows"!!

 Next, was onto celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  Hayden made a trap, but unfortunately never caught a Leprechaun.  They did leave us treats of green animal crackers, rainbow goldfish, mint Oreos, and sour apple green suckers though!! :)

 My pictures kind of got out of order, but this was the day of my Dad's memorial.  We headed up to the cemetery where my mom and brother are buried.  It was a beautiful night with a great view of the city.

 Hayden began his 1st sport!! --t-ball!! He is excited to play his 1st game next week!!

 Grocery shopping with Caleb this week.  He picked out pretzels and carried them all throughout the store with him.  He wanted to hold them on his lap on the way home.  This is how I found him when we got home -- pretzels in lap wit Lilly's sunglasses on, sound asleep!

 We are finally trying to get back into our regular routine, but the stomach bug has been passing through our family.  So far, Hayden and I are the only ones who haven't gotten it....and hoping it stays away.  I'm having ACL repair surgery on Thursday and hoping everyone is healthy by then!!!!!  So far today I have cleaned up Caleb's explosive poop in the bathroom (he didn't get sat on the toilet in time...not sure how he got it in the places he did!!  :( and Lilly's throw-up (didn't make it to the bathroom in time).....I'm ready for a break...even if it means forced bed rest and knee pain!!
