A couple of weekends ago, my sisters and I took a trip to Utah to visit my Grandparents. It was one of my favorite trips, seeing them, hearing about their lives, relaxing with my sisters, and getting to see my aunt, uncle and cousins as well.
1st night, visiting with extended family
Happy to be there!
My grandma promised that she would take it easy and just relax while we were there, but of course, each morning she had something special prepared. We were impressed by her powdered sugar topped strawberries!
Lunch with the girls. It was great spending time with my cousins as well and hearing how everyone was doing. It's amazing how much more you can talk when you aren't taking care of 4 kids at the same time!!
One of the days, we took a drive to see where my grandma and grandpa had grown up. It was so special hearing stories of their childhood and every thing that they have been through.
We also stopped to see where my dad's parents were buried. I had never been there, so it was good to see.
We stopped by the church my dad had grown up going to...also the church that was in the movie "footloose"
Between the trees used to be the farmhouse that my grandpa lived in. It was a dairy farm that butted up right to Lake Utah.
Farmhouse that my grandma grew up in. My great-great grandpa built this house.
House where my grandpa lived for a few years with his grandparents.
It was a special weekend and we are so blessed to have the example of my grandparents!!
