Apple sauce weekend and a 2 year old!

Last weekend, we had our annual apple sauce making weekend with Mark's family, as well as celebrating Caleb's 2nd birthday.  This year, the only weekend that worked for apple sauce was also a coug game weekend...so the guys went to the game, while the girls had fun picking apples and making apple sauce - about 40 qts!!!

Grace had fun holding the apples...

Wishing for a bite

On Sunday, we celebrated Caleb turning 2 with a "bear" birthday, since his favorite animal sound to make is a bear.  Here is the birthday crew eating their bear pancakes.
Making honeycomb necklaces (Caleb liked to eat his!)

Obstacle course for the little bears to get through the "woods"
 Running over the "log"
The little bear riding a mario cart?....Jake thought it was neat!
jumping on "rocks in the stream"
 Down the slide
 through the tunnel
 catching fish with his mouth

safe and sound in the bear cave!
Playing "don't spill the honey" - bringing popcorn kernels on a spoon, trying not to spill any

Hayden and Robin were the winners - I liked this picture because you can see proud Robin putting her arm around her fellow winner!
 Opening fun presents
 Happy birthday to you!
He did a great job blowing out the candles!!
Caleb was too proud of his cupcake to look up for the picture!

Happy Birthday 2 year old!

Rice Cereal

A new milestone at our household!  Now that Grace is 6 months, we started her on rice cereal tonight.  She didn't mind it and liked to suck on her tongue after eating it.  She didn't like being in the high chair though, so through the crying about that, she was able to eat her first "dinner"!!

Literal Hayden

I thought this was a funny story about how Hayden's mind thinks:  Last week, Hayden came home telling me that the bus driver on the way to school told him that he needed to draw a number so that Hayden could know which seat to sit in every day.  So, that day during "station" time, Hayden told his teacher that he needed to draw a number to give the bus driver....he drew the number "3"!!  When he got home, he showed me what he was going to give to the bus driver the next day.  After asking him and some other moms, I figured out that the bus driver meant that he was assigning seats and they needed to draw a number out of a hat.  I wanted to give the number to the bus driver, but Hayden was too embarrassed.  Oh well, at least he got practice drawing numbers at school! :)

Football, Fair, and more!

Just thought I would share some photos from the past week.  On Saturday, we headed down to the Coug game for the 1st home game of the season.  We packed a picnic, but due to heavy traffic had to eat quick in order to get to the field in time....at least we had time for some pictures!

Wearing our matching "wags" t-shirts!

Grace wasn't a fan of the heat!  So we spent 1/2 of the game indoors, which I didn't mind
Having fun watching with the cousins

Tired after a busy game day
On Sunday, we headed to the fair with grandma and grandpa...Got to go on some rides,

 Eat good fair food,
 Milk a cow...Even I got a try!
 Look at those horns!
On Monday, Caleb headed to the "boys" room and slept in his big-boy bed for the 1st time.  Mark is still working on the bunk beds, but we thought it was time to get Grace into the crib.  He did great and is still doing great!  Now, if we could just get rid of his pink binky!

Must have been sound asleep....look at the drool surrounding his head!

Big girl in her crib!  She loves sleeping in her stomach now.  She rolls herself over, and if she looses her binky, she will fuss until you put it back in.  It's pretty funny to watch though - as soon as the binky hits her mouth, her head falls to the crib and she's asleep!
Grace is almost SIX months old!!  She loves to jump in her bouncer....tonight she wore herself out in it!
Today, Hayden came home with "shadow", his classroom dog!  Whoever makes good choices that day gets to bring shadow home for the night.  Hayden was pretty excited and said he was trying really hard each day to get it!!  Way to go, Hayden!
